A little inn in the pines, steps from Donner Lake.
Five cabin-style rooms with private entrances and gas fireplaces, a hot tub beside the creek, and breakfast waiting in the morning. Ten minutes on foot to the beach; fifteen by car to four ski areas.
Donner Lake is Tahoe's quiet neighbor — and we're across the street.
Same Sierra granite, same blue water, none of the resort crowds. The inn sits a short walk from the west shore — West End Beach, the marina, the pub, and an ice cream shop are all on foot. Historic downtown Truckee is ten minutes by car; Lake Tahoe's north shore, twenty.
At night the neighborhood goes properly dark and quiet, with Gregory Creek running past the hot tub.
“Great spot across the street from Donner Lake. Clean, cozy and inviting… quiet and peaceful at night.”

Breakfast is handled.
Every morning we set out a fresh grab-and-go spread catered from a local Truckee cafe — breakfast burritos, warm pastries, overnight oats, fruit, and proper coffee. Take it to the room, the porch, or straight to the lift line.
“My son raved about the breakfast burritos — he woke up the following morning dreaming about having the burritos again.”

A hot tub beside the creek, under the pines.
Gregory Creek runs year-round a few feet from the tub. It's the single most-mentioned thing in our reviews — usually in the same sentence as “after a day of skiing.”
“We loved the hot tub by the creek after a day of skiing.”

“I love the hot tub under the pine trees.”

Ski season and lake season are both our season.
Winter
Sugar Bowl, Donner Ski Ranch, Boreal, and Soda Springs are all within 15 minutes — we're the closest inn to Donner Summit. Northstar and Palisades are within 40.
“The perfect place to stay after a late drive to Tahoe for an early AM ski. Super close to Sugar Bowl.”

Summer
Swim at West End Beach, ten minutes on foot. Kayaks and paddleboards at the marina, hiking from the door, and the historic railroad tunnels up on the summit. Ice cream directly across the street.
“We spent a day hiking the railroad tunnels, then went paddleboarding and swimming… A+++ experiences!”

We live close by, and it shows.
Check-in is self-serve and effortless, but there's a real host a text away — for an early check-in with a napping toddler, a restaurant recommendation, or a shovel during a storm.
“We stayed during the Christmas winter snowstorm… They helped shovel snow around our vehicle. The place felt safe, warm, and well cared for.”
